aged under 12 months—baby cashmere is the most high-end cashmere yarn, softer, warmer and more
luxurious than any other cashmere fiber.

Measuring an average mere 14.5 microns in diameter (far finer than human hair, which
ranges from 50 to 70 microns) and 34 to 36 mm in length, baby cashmere is
meticulously hand-gathered, followed by thorough washing, combing, and delicately
spun by advanced Italian equipment to ensure the yarn of the highest quality.

Each goat kid produces about only 80 grams of fiber, compared to the 250 grams
produced by a goat adult. Once the rough outer fibers are removed, only 30 to 40
grams of usable fine fiber remain per kid. An astonishing number of about 19 kids
contribute their fibers to produce just a single sweater.
