Zero Inventory
A Year in Review 01
What is LILYSILK’s “Zero Inventory”?
LILYSILK’s "zero inventory" model represents our commitment to both our customers and the environment by offering sustainable silk products. Once an order is placed, our manufacturing facility creates the garment within 48 hours. The finished product is then shipped via express delivery, typically arriving at its destination in just 2-3 business days.
What we do
To ensure each garment is made efficiently, our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system transfers the garment data to our automatic precision fabric cutter, which can cut fabric pieces in under one minute. From there, the fabrics are sent to our production team where each individual barcode is scanned through an app to create custom sewing instructions.

Zero Waste
A Year in Review 02
Why zero waste
The average production of a garment will generate 25% waste since the remaining material cannot be reused to make full-sized garments after cutting. This waste can add up to over 5.6 tons of leftover fabric in a single year.
What we do
Through our Zero Waste movement we’ve creatively reused waste fabric to design our Re-LILYSILK patchwork pillowcases, giving surplus materials a second life and significantly reducing waste. This innovative approach is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. We’ve transformed surplus material into 7,323 pillowcases, 29,048 hair ties, and 15,410 eye masks. The remaining 5 tons of fabric have been shredded and blended to create high-quality, sustainable fabrics, such as silk-wool blends, for use in future products. This process ensures that even the smallest remnants of material contribute to our commitment to sustainability, allowing us to continue creating luxurious and eco-conscious textiles.

Zero Scraps
A Year in Review 03
Why zero scraps
In the United States, the average adult throws away approximately 70 pounds of clothing each year, 95% of which could be recycled for another purpose. To address this issue, we partnered with Terracycle®, allowing customers to recycle their clothing and give it a second life that benefits communities. Check out our advice for maintaining and lengthening the lifespan of your items.
What we do
In 2024, over 470 pounds of LILYSILK fabric was successfully recycled. From the launch of the recycling program in January 2022 until the end of 2024, we have recycled a total of 2,385 items and 1,404 pounds of fabric, with an expected 2,000 pounds recycled by the end of 2025. This recycling program is an exciting opportunity for LILYSILK customers, allowing them to enjoy their silk products for years to come, while also ensuring long-term protection for the planet.

Quality Assurance

At LILYSILK, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of sustainability and environmental responsibility, going beyond mere compliance to set a new benchmark for the industry. We don’t just meet the required criteria—we actively pursue continuous improvement and innovation in our sourcing practices.

To that end, we are proud to hold these certifications: OEKO-TEX CLASS 2, ensuring our silk is safe and free from harmful substances; GOTS, certifying that our organic silk meets the strictest ecological and social standards; The Good Cashmere Standard® Premium, guaranteeing our cashmere supports animal welfare and sustainable practices; and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), confirming that our wool is sourced from farms committed to ethical and environmentally responsible practices. These certifications not only reflect our commitment to quality but also drive us to set higher expectations for ourselves, fostering a more sustainable and responsible future.

Sustainable Packaging

The widespread use of plastic packaging across the industry contributes significantly to environmental damage, from pollution to long-term ecological harm. However, at LILYSILK, we are committed to going beyond the norm. We prioritize sustainability in every aspect of our operations, including our packaging. In 2024, we successfully made 99% of our outer packaging degradable, and we are working towards 100% degradable packaging by 2026. This commitment reflects our dedication to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable future.

Optimizing Packaging Efficiency
Our packaging is designed to be resealable, encouraging customers to reuse it as a storage box. This results in over 80% of returns being made to reuse the original packaging, reducing the need for additional materials and minimising waste.
